Tottenham Hotspur fired head coach Thomas Frank, the London-based soccer club announced Wednesday.
Spurs said they were determined to give Frank time and support to “build for the future together,” but their current status prompted the change.
They sit at 16th in the Premier League standings, dangerously close to relegation.
“Thomas was appointed in June 2025, and we have been determined to give him the time and support needed to build for the future together,” Spurs said. “However, results and performances have led the board to conclude that a change at this point in the season is necessary.
“Throughout his time at the club, Thomas has conducted himself with unwavering commitment, giving everything in his efforts to move the club forward. We would like to thank him for his contribution and wish him every success in the future.”
Spurs (7-11-8) won just twice over their last 11 appearances. They won just three of their last 17 Premier League home matchups.
Spurs will host first-place Arsenal (17-3-5) in another Premier League home matchup at 11:30 a.m. EST Feb. 22 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Gunners wen’t unbeaten in 16 of their last 17 matches.
Spurs did not name an interim coach in their announcement of Frank’s dismissal.
